Tekkit quarry how many engines

Another popular way to power the quarry is magmatic engines. Quarry powering level 3. Energy Links can be used to power the Quarry using EU.

It is advised to place the Energy Link adjoining to the Quarry. The Electrical Engine is part of the Forestry mod, which is no longer part of Tekkit for some reason or another. It performed that necessary conversion from EU to MJ.

The Quarry is a machine added by BuildCraft. Good point Python, forgot about the Electrical Engines. Would peat engines be viable, peat is pretty cheap and runs for a long time, one peat farm can supply 10 engines at full tilt. Jul 29, 2, 0 1. If you're using a 1. So many people use enderchests to transport quarry items back to "base" well unless you got some big engines pumping out the other end all that's going to happen in everything is going to spill out, lag the crap out of the server and more often than not crash it.

You would need a fair few peat engines running at once for that to work on a quarry. If you run the full 10 that is. I guess that would work Mero New Member. I use magmatic engines and a magma crucible until I get enough resources to make Redstone energy cells and then i use the magmatic engines to charge up the energy cells and use those.

Daemonblue New Member. I use about 6 energy cells on a 20x25 quarry. Easy to set it and forget it. Connect and share knowledge within a single location that is structured and easy to search. I am trying to build a quarry in Tekkit 3.

I've found a bunch of tutorials on YouTube, but they all seem to use some kind of "Electrical Engine", which seems to no longer be in the game. Is this no longer possible? I have set up a few batboxes and they're completely full from being charged by the solar panels, what to do next? The Electrical Engine is part of the Forestry mod, which is no longer part of Tekkit for some reason or another.

It performed that necessary conversion from EU to MJ. There is another block that does this, though! It's called an Energy Link , courtesy of the Power Converters mod , and it's a bit expensive. It accepts EU from your solar panels and produces BuildCraft energy. Simply wire it up, and connect it to your quarry. You can place it directly next to the quarry, but if you don't, you need at least two pieces of conductive pipe wooden, then normal to connect it. I'm not sure if this is a bug, or if it's just that the Energy Link can't tell how much MJ the conductive pipes are going to need.

Anyway, you should really place the link directly next to the quarry. Another thing about it is that you can give the Energy Link a Redstone signal, which makes it stop converting energy. This allows you to turn the quarry on and off with some delay though, the quarry has an internal energy storage. Note that if you're playing Tekkit Lite , this block does not exist.

However, you have access to several engines that can indirectly be powered by sunlight. Namely, the 4 different Electric Engines that run off EU — effectively replacing the one from Forestry — and the Blulectric Engine from RedPower that runs off blutricity.

In Tekkit Lite this is achievable, the advantage of this approach being that you won't have to worry about fuel. It allows for unmanned mining of a large area. A Quarry can be powered in many different ways. The default settings of the Quarry will occupy an area of 11x11x5 not including the actual Quarry block itself , and excavate a 9x9 area of land. These dimensions can be modified with Landmarks to increase the size, up to 64x To adjust the size of the Quarry, 3 Landmarks will need to be placed in a square or rectangular pattern.

You will need to activate the Landmarks by right clicking on one of them. The Quarry will then need to be placed next to one of the Landmarks. A black and yellow line will appear when the Quarry is placed. The line is where the frame will be built. There are many ways to run a Quarry, which are mentioned in the section below.

Upon starting, the Quarry will clear the area within the black and yellow bars note: these blocks are destroyed, not mined and build a frame. Once the frame is complete, it will spawn a crane-like structure that will begin to mine the area one block at a time. These blocks will be deposited into any adjacent chest or will be spat onto the ground if there isn't one.

You can also pipe out your excavated blocks. In the event the quarry encounters lava, the rest of the blocks under the lava will not be mined, due to the fact that the quarry is coded to stop at lava, or bedrock.

A preventative measure for this issue is to fill the Quarry's excavation area with water.
