Ebay seller should i leave feedback first

Feedback should be left when the transaction is complete and you only know that when the buyer tells you via their feedback. However it is entirely voluntary, and no one has to leave it at all if they don't want to. Turn on suggestions. Leaving feedback is voluntary for both buyers and sellers. Opinions anyone? The buyer's job is done after payment, therefore, it is time for feedback. Since sellers cannot leave negative or neutral feedback and I sell expensive things cheap, and had some issues with buyers - I never leave feedback as a seller until everything is settled.

Most buyers do not leave feedback anymore and I do not want to give it to them either. Always leave feedback for sellers when the item is received and verified. You should leave feedback immediately after receiving payment - anything less is preparing for retaliation. As a buyer, I don't leave feedback unless the seller does first.

As a buyer I expect to provide my feedback first and as a seller I expect feedback to be left for me first. Just because payment is made does not mean the transaction is complete. It has nothing to do with retaliation either, but rather once the buyer has received their item and is satisfied their feedback for me indicates the transaction has been completed and all is well.

If I leave feedback after selling something and I haven't even shipped it out yet just does not make any sense to me. As a buyer, I voluntarily leave feedback when I get the item and am happy with the transaction - and I expect it to be done first, before the seller leaves mine.

This is because when I first started here nearly 2 decades ago and left it after payment, almost no one returned it for almost 6 months - maybe 1 in Just poor manners in my opinion. Paying for what you buy does not warrant automatic feedback IMO - that is a matter of fulfilling a contract.

It's the law. A novel idea to be sure. And I have discovered since that many just don't appreciate the opportunity either way. But I lost so much - and am so far behind where my numbers should be. On both accounts. As a seller, it was important to get my numbers up as that was the only way to get my selling restrictions lifted at the time. I became disheartened. Perhaps, but I had my feelings hurt. I realized I should not take it as a personal affrontment, but I did.

I tried and worked so hard - only to be ignored. I would not wish that situation on anyone else. As a seller, I now state on each item that I reciprocate feedback; this tells the buyer that once I get it - then I will return it.

I keep my promise. By stating this in my listings, a buyer knows up front what my preference is and can decide what is more important to them - the priced right item delivered quickly, or the feedback. So if you paid for your item, then filed a false SNAD,or did a chargeback, or subtly extorted a partial refund from the seller, that postive would still stand.

Why should a buyer who extorts and hassles, and makes a seller's life miserable get the same postive feedback as a buyer who is honest? If eBay goes to an item count instead of buyer fb, how will it change it item? Answer: it won't. Concentrate on the cool stuff you can buy here, not the feedback that is the same for scammers as it is for honest buyers. Turn on suggestions. However, the seller waits until I receive the item and leave feedback before they leave feedback. I would think the SECOND the payment is made, I as a buyer have lived up to my end of the agreement and the seller should then, at that point, leave positive feedback.

Am I right? It makes me wonder what they are waiting for. When I sell an item, I leave feedback immediately upon receiving payment. Anybody have any thoughts on this? Message 1 of All forum topics Previous Topic Next Topic.

Real people believe that if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Did the seller ship the item within the timeframe indicated in the listing? Remember that international shipments may be subject to additional delays. Were the shipping and handling costs reasonable? If you communicated with the seller, were your questions or concerns addressed? Did the seller respond within a reasonable amount of time? Because we don't know when a buyer has actually paid, buyers are allowed to continue using eBay as they normally would, and that includes leaving Feedback.

However, eBay will remove any neutral or negative Feedback left by the buyer in any of these cases: The buyer doesn't respond to the unpaid item process. The response indicates that the buyer isn't following eBay guidelines for example, the buyer ended up purchasing the item somewhere else.

The buyer ends up getting suspended for the unpaid item or a different policy violation. Sellers used to be able to leave negative Feedback for buyers. Unfortunately, we found that when buyers had bad experiences with sellers, they were often reluctant to leave neutral or negative Feedback out of fear that the seller would retaliate by leaving negative Feedback for them.

And when buyers did receive unfair negative Feedback, they usually decreased their shopping on eBay.
